Senior Full Stack Engineer (m/f/d)

Team Discover owns a core part of the customer journey at intersport.de search, navigation, category pages, filters and recommendations. Our work directly impacts how customers explore products and how the business grows. 

We are a small, empowered product team with end to end ownership. That means we take responsibility for what we build and how it performs in production. 

We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer with strong frontend expertise who enjoys solving product relevant problems, working across the stack, and taking real ownership. 

What you will do

• Build and improve user facing experiences across search, navigation, category pages, filters, and recommendations  
• Develop and maintain frontend applications with a strong focus on performance, scalability and usability  
• Contribute to backend services, APIs, and event driven systems where needed  
• Help shape technical decisions across architecture, tooling and build vs buy questions  
• Work closely with Product, Design, and Engineering to define and deliver impactful solutions  
• Take ownership from idea to production, including quality, performance and operational stability  

What we are looking for

• Several years of experience building and shipping complex web applications  
• Strong frontend expertise with modern TypeScript based frameworks  
• Solid full stack engineering skills and willingness to work across frontend and backend  
• Experience with server side rendering and performance oriented web development  
• Good understanding of system design, APIs, databases and cloud based architectures  
• Product mindset and the ability to balance technical quality with business impact  
• Ability to ensure observability of systems in production, including metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting 
• Experience with backend technologies such as Kotlin / Spring Boot, event-driven systems (e.g. Kafka), and cloud environments (AWS), or strong ability to ramp up quickly
• High level of ownership, self direction and comfort working in an autonomous team  
• Strong communication skills in German and English  

Nice to have

• Experience with microfrontend architectures  
• Experience with Kotlin, Spring Boot, Kafka, PostgreSQL, or DynamoDB  
• Experience with AWS and infrastructure as code  
• Experience in ecommerce or product discovery environments  
• Experience using AI tools pragmatically to improve development workflows, productivity, and code quality

Infrastructure: AWS, Pulumi, GitLab CI/CD 
Tooling: Datadog, Algolia, Unleash, Vitest, Playwright 

You do not need to match every technology in our stack. We care more about strong engineering fundamentals, curiosity, and the ability to learn.
